Japan To Build Neurosurgical Hospital in Cambodia

Japan has planned to invest some US$150 million in building a neurosurgical hospital in Cambodia.

The investment project was raised by Dr. Shigemi Kitahara, chairman of Kitahara Neurosurgical Institute, Japan, during a meeting here on Sept. 30 with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister H.E. Keat Chhon.

This project is part of the Comprehensive Asia Development Plan studied by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), he said.

In reply, H.E. Keat Chhon warmly welcomed the investment project, under which not only a hospital for neurosurgery, heart disease and cancer, but also a university for the above said skills will be built.

The Cambodian deputy prime minister asked the Japanese side to conduct further detailed study to ensure the success of the project.
