H.E Sok An meets with a delegation of Vietnamese Front





Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Sok An, cabinet minister meets here on Wednesday with a delegation of Vietnamese Front led by Mr. Vu Trong Kim, member of the Executive Central Committee of the Party, Permanent Vice President and Secretary General of Central Committee’s Motherland Front of Vietnam, in which the talks focused on the good cooperation and relationship between the two countries.

On the occasion, H.E. Sok An expressed profound gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, front and people for their sacrifices in the liberation of Cambodia and her people from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sok An, cabinet minister meets with a visiting Mr. Mawoj Bahadur Shrestha, director general of Himalayan Bank Limited of Nepal in Phnom Penh on April 7.

In the meeting, Mr. Mawoj told Deputy Premier Sok An that his visit to Cambodia this time is aimed at looking for understanding on the investment potential on the education and vocational training field in Cambodia.

In reply, H.E Sok An expressed his welcome to the investment purpose of the delegation and recommended the company to contact with Cambodia’s relevant ministries and institutions

H.E Khieu Kanharith, meets with a Director of Radio France International



Cambodian Information Minister H.E Khieu Kanharith, meets here on Wednesday with Mr. Jean Francios Tain, Director of Radio France International (RFI) to Asia.

In the meeting, Mr. Jean Francios Tain thanked the royal government of Cambodia, especially Premier Techo Hun Sen and H.E Khieu Kanharith for granting RFI to broadcast Khmer language in Cambodia through FM channel.

He further informed H.E. Khieu Kanharith that he desires to expand the program here if the royal government of Cambodia granted the permission.

In reply, the minister expressed thanks to the RFI director for his efforts in picking up good programs for Cambodian listeners.

Lok Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen visits 1,195 families of tribe people in Ratanakiri province





Cambodian Red Cross President Lok Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen accompanied by the Red Cross officials on Wednesday visits 1,195 families of tribe people in Ratanakiri province.

Speaking on the occasion, Lok Chumteav Bun Reny Hun Sen called on the parents there to send their children to schools. She also expressed thanks to all charity people who always support the Red Cross’s activities.

Also on the occasion, she has distributed relief including 30 kg of milled rice, 50,000 Riels (Cambodian Currency) equivalent to USD 12.5 to each family plus some instant noodles, canned fishes, household utensils and clothes

H.E. Prak Sokhon inspects the training activities of Cambodian peace-keeping contingents at the Institute






Cambodian Secretary of State at the Council of Ministers H.E. Prak Sokhon, on April 7 inspects the training activities of Cambodian peace-keeping contingents at the Institute for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine and (Explosive Remnant of War) Clearance in Kampong Speu province.

On the occasion, H.E Prak Sokhon said that 120 troops will be dispatched to Chad and another 120 to Central Africa at the end of May or early June this year under the framework of UN Peacekeeping Mission and another brigade is standby for rotation.

As a result, Cambodian de-mining contingent in Sudan has so far cleared 5,338 hectares of land and found 2,394 anti-personnel mines, 157 anti-tank mines and 50,928 UXO.

Samdech Hun Sen meets with a German delegation



Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen meets here Tuesday with a German delegation led by Mr. Bernd Pfaffenbach, Secretary of State of the Economy and Technology Ministry.

During the meeting, Mr. Bernd Pfaffenbach informed Cambodia premier that he will further boost the relationship between the two countries, especially trade and other fields.

He added that so far Germany has bought garment products from Cambodia and he will further expand the market between and Cambodia and Germany.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed profound thanks to government of Germany and other Germany-funded organizations for their contributions to the Cambodia’s development

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Sok An, cabinet minister meets here on Monday with a German delegation led by Mr. Bernd Pfaffenbach, Secretary of State of the Economy and Technology Ministry.

In the meeting, H.E Sok An told the German delegation that there are a lot of trade opportunities in Cambodia for German businessmen.

In reply, H.E. Bernd and his delegation’s members have expressed their impression and believe that German businessmen will come to make business here before leading to the investment

H.E Keat Chhon meets with director general of OSK Company of Malaysia




Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Keat Chhon, Minister of the Economy and Finance meets here on April 6 with Mr. Ong Leong Huat, director general of OSK Company of Malaysia.

In the meeting, Mr. Ong Leong Huat told his Cambodian Minister of the OSK’s investment purpose on the establishment of the stock exchange company here.

In reply, H.E Keat Chhon welcomed the investment purpose of the company in Cambodia as OSK has already opened its commercial bank here too

The meeting of the Public Finance Management Reform Commission




Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Keat Chhon, Minister of the Economy and Finance chairs here on Monday the opening meeting of the Public Finance Management Reform Commission, in which the meeting was aimed to review the report of the commission’s activity in stage I and setting up the budget strategy in stage II.

The Special Session of the Cambodian-Thai Joint Commission



The Special Session of the Cambodian-Thai Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary holds here its two-day (April 6-7) talks, in which the Cambodian side led by Senior Minister H.E. Var Kimhong, Chairman of Cambodia’s Joint Border Commission and Thai side led by its Chairman H.E. Vasin Teeravachyan.

According to H.E. Var Kimhong, both sides have agreed to plant border posts in July within the disputed areas near Cambodia’s Preah Vihear temple.

He added that technicians from both sides will jointly survey the land near the temple with the priority of planting border posts there and therefore helping prevent armed clashes.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen meets with Dr. Hapuhisa Handa, president of International Foundation for Arts and Culture and chancellor of University of Cambodia at Takhmao town, Kandal province on April 6.

During the meeting, Dr. Handa told Cambodian Prime Minister on his foundation project, which he said he will do his best to collect some one USD million for the contribution to the Cambodian Red Cross to help Cambodian orphans, disabled persons and HIV/AIDS victims.

H.E Keat Chhon hands over the certificates to 24 trainees





Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Keat Chhon, Minister of the Economy and Finance hands over the certificates to 24 trainees, who have completed a two-week training course on the Leadership of Public Policy Management held in Phnom Penh on April 6.

The course was conducted in Cambodia for one week and another week in Japan under the sponsored by ADB in cooperation with the Institute of Economy and Finance of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen accompanied by his wife Lok Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen together with senators, lawmakers and senior government officials on April 4 meet with war invalid combatants and their families during a get-together at Kampot province’s Chhuok district.

All the 254 families of war invalid combatants who live at the development village were each received a 50-meter wide by 300 meter-long of land, a concrete house roofed with tiles, access to clean water as well as other infrastructure.

The 5th Asia Economic Forum on Asia’s Challenges and Opportunities





Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, presides over here this Monday morning the 5th Asia Economic Forum On Asia’s Challenges and Opportunities During the Time of Global Economic and Financial Crises which was jointly organized by the Asia Economic Forum, the University of Cambodia and the International Foundation for Arts and Culture.

In his keynote address, Premier Techo Hun Sen said that the rooted causes of the crises are deeper than the failure of market regulation and the financial institutions’ management.

Moreover, he added that while Cambodia is being confronted to the global economic and financial crises, it has put forth a number of concrete measures to tackle with and vow to stabilize the kingdom’s macro-economy
