H.E. Khieu Kanharith holds a press conference to denounce over the UK Economist Intelligence Unit’s reports

Cambodian Information Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith holds a press conference here this morning to denounce over the UK Economist Intelligence Unit’s reports for ranking Cambodia among the top five countries in the world at risk of political unrest caused by the global economic crisis, in which the reports were published by The Cambodia Daily and Phnom Penh Post.

On the occasion, H.E. Khieu Kanharith who is also spokesman for the Royal Government of Cambodia clarified that the report may have other political purpose inside toward the Royal Government of Cambodia and the EIU may not clearly aware of Cambodian society.

He added that the issues of at risk and economic instability in some major countries have forced some companies and factories to close and caused a lot of people lost their jobs, but Cambodia is the agriculture country, so Cambodia has a little impact from the global economic crisis, and Cambodian workers can return to their farming works
