Cambodia Rejects Thailand’s Request to Extradite Thaksin



Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen told a press conference this morning at his Takhmao Residence upon the meeting with former Thai Premier Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra that Mr. Thaksin came to Cambodia this time in the name of my advisor and the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Economic advisor.

Premier Techo Hun Sen added that if Thais want to know what I and Mr. Thaksin talked about, please watch TV Hong Kong.

Prime Minister Hun Sen asked Thai people’s understanding to share times for Mr. Thaksin to help Cambodian economy, and he also impressed that Thai people need Mr. Thaksin to return to serve his nation, adding that as a Thai national, Mr. Thaksin wishes to serve his Thai people, but they don’t give a chance to him.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also showed a diplomatic note of Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation responded to Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, in which the note clearly stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia will neither temporally arrest nor extradite Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra.
