A signing ceremony for the Exchange of Notes of the Japanese ODA Grant Aid to Cambodia totaling ¥ 2,143,000,000 (approximately US$ 21.43 million) for the promoting the economic stabilization and development efforts of the Kingdom of Cambodia was inked here Monday morning by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hor Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and H.E. Shinohara Katsuhiro, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia under the high presence of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
The grant aid will be used for the following three projects:
- ¥ 819,000,000 for the Projects for Improvement of Roleang Chrey Headwork;
- ¥ 524,000,000 for the Project for Construction of Primary Schools in Phnom Penh (Phase III); and
- ¥ 800,000,000 for the purpose of contributing to promotion of the economic structural adjustment efforts by the Royal Government of Cambodia as well as mitigation of the economic difficulties, including indebtedness, of the Kingdom of Cambodia (Non-Project Grant Aid).
