A press conference on the Launch of the Red List of Cambodian Antiquities at Risk



A press conference on the Launch of the Red List of Cambodian Antiquities at Risk was organized at the National Museum of Cambodia here on Tuesday by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and ICOM under the presidency of H.E. Chuch Pheoung, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts with the participation of US Ambassador to Cambodia Mrs. Carole A. Rodley, Project Officer of Heritage Watch Ms. Erin Linn and International Council of Museum (ICOM) Program Activities Officer Mrs. Jenifer Thevenot.

The ICOM has published the Red List of Cambodian Antiquities at Rist (2009), the sixth Red List in ICOM’s Program to combat illicit trafficking in cultural property.

The Editorial Committee of the Red List has selected 29 categories of objects appearing frequently on the art market, according to their material of production and a chronological scale extending from Prehistory to the post-Angkor period.
