The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Kanghot Irrigation Project in Battambang province




Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and China’s Ambassador to Cambodia Ms. Zhang Jin Feng press buttons to operate the machinery while presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Kanghot Irrigation Project at Banon district, Battambang province on Feb. 2.

The project is totally costs USD 61 million, including USD 47,416, 372 credit loan from the People’s Republic of China and USD 13.5 million from the government of Cambodia. Once the above-mentioned irrigation project is completed, it will be capable of watering of over 49, 000 hectares of agricultural land.

Addressing the ceremony, Cambodian premier said the project is not only to boost the agricultural field, help protect the natural disaster and enhance the transportation field, but it also the prioritized field in the government’s political platform for the internal integration goal of Cambodia.
