Cambodian Information Minister H.E Khieu Kanharith (right) meets here on Sept. 25 with Mr. Thomson, Reuter’s Bureau Chief to Thailand and Indochina.
During the meeting, Mr. Thomson has raised some questions regarding the land dispute issue and the process of Khmer Rouge tribunal.
In reply, the minister said there are more than 40,000 cases of land dispute, but the government has already resolved thousand of cases based on the legal procedures and actual facts. For the KR tribunal, Cambodia has proposed the UN since 1992, but the proposal was ignored.
The tribunal was started when the KR completely disappeared. Moreover, the good paid judges are willing to delay the process.
