The 30th anniversary of the reconstruction of the National Bank of Cambodia

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen addresses his remarks while presiding over here yesterday the 30th anniversary of the reconstruction of the National Bank of Cambodia.

On the occasion, the Cambodian premier said, “It is more difficult nowadays. World Bank and IMF have supervised me, forced me to listen to them too much if compared to the Vietnam’s experts during the time that Cambodia was considered under the Vietnamese colonialism, in which I have had the full rights for decision making on politics as well as on economic issues.”

Referring to WB’s request to provide relief aid to the Cambodian victims of typhoon Ketsana, Samdech Hun Sen said, “If WB does not want to help, please do not help. If it wants to help, please do not complain later.

I’m afraid that the help will become again a tied package (with imposed conditions for its assistance).”
