Cambodia and Thailand conducted a meeting of the 6th Cambodian-Thai General Border Committee (GBC) in Siem Reap on April 29.







Cambodian delegation was led by deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Gen.Tea Banh, while Thai delegation was headed by Thai Defence Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan.

The aim of the meeting is to find a solution to the border tension between the two countries.

The meeting appreciated the progress of Cambodian-Thai land border joint commission in finding the border poles, deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Gen.Tea Banh told the reporters right after the meeting, adding that the border issue between the two nations should be solved on the basis of the MOU on the land border demarcation dated on June 14, 2000.

The two sides promoted the cooperation between the countries on maritime security and safety, and the prevention of guilty act at sea, he said.

The talks were also focussed on other issues relating to trade, public health, mine clearance experiences, tourism, education, agriculture and others
