The “Food facility – EU rapid response to soaring food price in Cambodia”



A signing ceremony on the “Food facility – EU rapid response to soaring food price in Cambodia” of the EU-Cambodia: Partner in Progress in amount of 11.2 million Euros (over US$15 million) for the food security improvement project was signed here on Sept 2 by Cambodian minister of Agriculture H.E Chan Sarun, Mr. Rafael Dochao, the Charge Affairs of the European Commission Delegation to Cambodia and Mr. Ajav Markanday, FAO representative.

The three-year project funded by through the European Union Food Facility and implemented by Cambodia’s Agriculture Ministry and FAO, will increase food production and farm productivity of at least 50,000 food-insecure smallholders farmers and their families all over Cambodia. The EU Food Facility is a boost to the Food Security Support Program which is one of the five key program areas of the Royal government of Cambodia’s strategy for agriculture and water formulated with the assistance of FAO.
