Premier Hun Sen Appeals for Better Tourism Service




Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen visits Cambodian Products’ Exhibition while presiding over the closing summary meeting of the Ministry of Tourism held in Phnom Penh on July 30.

In his keynote address, Premier Techo Hun Sen called on the Ministry of Tourism and other relevant tourism sectors to further improve and to provide better services so as to attract more tourists to the country.

Moreover, Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen suggested the Ministry of Tourism to provide more training of tourism human resource otherwise the development of tourism would not be advanced.

According to the ministry’s reports, during the first semester of 2009, the number of foreign tourist arrivals dropped by one percent to over one million if compared to that of the same period of last year.

Last year, Cambodia received over 2.12 million foreign tourists and earned some 1.6 billion U.S. dollars, which contributed to over 10 percent of the kingdom’s GDP.
