MOU between the National Authority for Natural Disaster Management Cambodia, Cambodia Mekong University and the Ministry of Environment

A signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Authority for Natural Disaster Management Cambodia, Cambodia Mekong University and the Ministry of Environment was signed today in Phnom Penh under the presidency of Senior Minister H.E Nhim Vanda, First Vice President of National Authority for Natural Disaster Management of Cambodia.

The MOU was made with an aiming to increase the quality of education and environment and together to combat or to reduce the nowadays natural disasters.

An under national level-workshop on the 4th and 5th National Report on the CEDAW Treaty Implementation

An under national level-workshop on the 4^th and 5^th National Report on the CEDAW Treaty Implementation in Cambodia, the Selecting Protocols of CEDAW Treaty and 13 Points-Recommendations of the Cambodia Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen was held in Preah Sihanouk province on July 7 and participated by the representatives of all relevant institutions.

A workshop on the Clean Air in the Asean Cites

Phnom Penh Municipality holds July 7, a workshop on the Clean Air in the Asean Cites, of which in the current time participated by Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippine, Thailand and Vietnam.

The workshop was held under the presidency of Phnom Penh Municipality’s Deputy Governor H.E Pa Socheatvong and Mr. Roland Has, Head of Clean Air Project for the Cities of GTZ organization.

Deputy Prime Minister H.E Keat Chhon, Minister of Economy and Finance hands over a book of National Strategy Development Plan Update (NSDP Update 2009-2013) to H.E Ou Ov Hat, Secretary of State of the Planning Ministry during the book launching ceremony held in Phnom Penh on July 7.

The NSDP Update 2009-2013 is a fourth national development plan for economy and society and an achievement closely prepared by the Ministry of the Planning Ministry, government institutions and involving partners.

Cambodian NA President Meets Vietnamese and APA guests

Cambodia National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin meets here today with a visiting H.E Dang Vu Minh, Member of Permanent Committee and Head of Science, Technology and Environment Committee of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In the meeting, both sides have discussed on the strengthening of the cooperation, relationship and solidarity between the parliaments, governments and people of the two countries, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Two Thai Terrorist Suspects Sent Back to Thailand

Thai nationals Varissareeya Boonsom and Kobchai Booplot who were allegedly accused as mastermind for grenade attack in Bangkok were deported from Phnom Penh International Airport on July 5 after their arrest Cambodia.

H.E Long Visalo, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia who presides over the handing over ceremony said that the suspected handing over was made without the extradition request from Thai authority.
