H.E. Keat Chhon meets with President of International Foundation in Cambodia


Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Keat Chhon, Minister of Economy and Finance, meets here recently with Mr. Hideo Ohkubo, President of International Foundation for Sustainable Education in Cambodia and President of Forval Co., Ltd.

In the meeting, H.E. Keat Chhon expressed his congratulation over the activities of the International Foundation for Sustainable Education in Cambodia in the human resource development, particularly on the improvement of pedagogy.

A visiting US Warship USS Patriot visits Cambodia


A visiting US Warship USS Patriot with 92 crews onboard was warmly greeted by Cambodian Naval Forces upon docking at Preah Sihanouk International Seaport on Feb. 15.

During the 8-day stay in Cambodia, the USS Patriot will exchange experience with Cambodian naval forces.

H.E. Khieu Kanharith holds a press conference



Information Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith tells reporters at a press conference here on Feb. 15, asking foreign newspapers to be translated in their items by using specific words and avoiding some misunderstanding.

Misunderstanding, he said, can cause a situation to be tense. As far as Cambodia-Thailand border dispute concerned, the minister said Cambodia took its stand on solving the problem by peaceful means in spite of bilateral parties or tripartite parties or quadripartite parties.

Phnom Penh Municipality holds today the 2009 annual conference



Phnom Penh Municipality holds today the 2009 annual conference and setting up Work plan for 2010 under the presidency of its governor H.E Kep Chutema.

The conference reviewed the work activities on the many issues such as social security, public order, anti crime, gangsters, illegal gambling and traffic law implementation in the capital.

Cambodian National Council for Women holds the 2009 annual conference



Cambodian National Council for Women holds here today the 2009 annual conference to review the works of the past year and put forth new action plan for 2010 under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

Addressing the conference, Cambodian premier recommended as follows:

· Continue to widely disseminate the convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women at district and commune level.

· The Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Justice have to enforce the law implementation. To promote the law dissemination, to combat on the human and sexual trafficking.

· Censor the meanings and images in each program, especially in TV programs and other stages.

. All ministries, institutions and local authorities have to promote more women to be leaders and women voices for decision making.
