Samdech Hun Sen warmly receives a visiting Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea



Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen (left) warmly receives a visiting Mr. Hesong Kwang Ho, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea in Phnom Penh on May 20, in which the visit is aimed at further enhance the ties of relationship and friendship between the two countries.

On the occasion, Cambodian Premier Techo Hun Sen expressed profound thanks to the South Korean government and people for their great contribution to the development of Cambodia.

72 newly-recruited state civil servants of the ministry of information



Cambodian Information Minister H.E Khieu Kanharith together with the ministry’s senior officials meets here on Wednesday during a get-together with 72 newly-recruited state civil servants.

On the occasion, the minister recommended to all the new staffers to study ever harder as the media work is required more and comprehensive knowledge in writing and analyses on economic, politic, social affairs as well as conducting research.

He said the ministry of information is discussing with World Bank and the interior ministry on dispatching the new officials to the far-flung localities in order to set up the liaison officers under the framework of decentralization and deconcentration

The transferring ceremony of the new Chairman of the National Authority for Combating Drugs







Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen on Tuesday presides over here the transferring ceremony of the new Chairman of the National Authority for Combating Drugs, in which H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Ke Kim Yan officially took up as the new Chairman of the NACD replacing Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Sar Kheng, minister of Interior.

In his keynote address, Premier Techo Hun Sen appealed to the whole nation to join together to take immediate measures to fight against drug issues. He further said that the ministry of education must consider adding the anti-drug message in the textbooks from primary to higher education to make knowledge of the danger of drug among young people as the drug issues have threatened the social security, national economy and the family harmony.

Meanwhile, he called on the movie productions in the country to add anti-drug message before starting playing the movies, and printing media, mass media as well as TV programs to insert the anti-drug message to their articles and programs to educate general people if possible.

A signing ceremony of the framework agreement on the concession loan of 510,770,000 Yuan, equivalent to (USD 73 million) for the construction of a 121 km-long National Road No. 78 from Opong Mon to Banlung between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China was signed in Phnom Penh on May 19 by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Keat Chhon, minister of Economy and Finance and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Ms. Zhang Jinfeng

In the meeting, Ms. Annette Dixion told H.E Keat Chhon that her visit to Cambodia is aimed at seeking for more understanding on the priority platform of the government of Cambodia related to the World Bank loan to Cambodia.

In reply, Cambodian deputy premier asked World Bank to provide technical skill training on agricultural field to Cambodian farmers and rural electricity building for the benefit of the agricultural works
