General Director of AKP meets with vice-general director of Vietnamese News Agency

Royal Government Delegate Lok Chum Teave Kit Kim Huon, general director of Agene Kampuchea Press AKP (Cambodian News Agency) receives here today vice-general director of Vietnamese News Agency (VNA) Ha Minh Hue, who is on a visit to Cambodia.

In the meeting, the talk focused on the provision of the Information Technology in the news agency’s professional skills.

He confirmed a great effort made by VNA to complete the assistance project as soon as possible following his visit to the technical department of AKP along with printing machine donated recently by Vietnamese News Agency.

In addition, he is responsible for conducting the assistance project. He also desired two IT engineers of AKP to make a field visit to the technical centre of VNA in the near future.

Meanwhile, the VNA vice-general director invited AKP general director to visit VNA at her earliest convenience; in return she accepted the invitation.

Samdech Heng Samrin meets with President of Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association

Mr. Vu Mao, Permanent Committee's Member of Vietnamese Parliament and President of Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association leads a group of Vietnamese businessmen for visit to Cambodia had a photo session with Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin while paying a courtesy call on him in Phnom Penh on Mar. 11, in which he told Samdech Heng Samrin of his visit to the Kingdom this time is aimed at seeking for more understanding on the investment opportunity.

A graduation ceremony at the Royal University of Phnom Penh

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen hands over a diploma to a student while presiding over a graduation ceremony held at the Royal University of Phnom Penh on March 11.

Addressing the ceremony, the Cambodian premier said that he strongly believed that the value of education was still a main factor for the individual and national development.

He also urged the high-educational institutions for promoting the researching study and the memoirs or thesis writing, being aimed at tackling the main problems happening in addition to setting up a new point-of-view system as part of contributing to the social, cultural and economic development.

H.E Sok An meets with a delegation of UNESCO

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Sok An, cabinet minister meets with a delegation of UNESCO led by Mr. Olabiyi Babalola Joseph Yai, head of UNESCO's Executive Committee to Paris in Phnom Penh on Mar. 11, in which the guests asked Cambodia to provide every information related to its cultural heritages, especially the Preah Vihear temple to the committee.

In reply, H.E Sok An promised to provide all information to the committee and he also briefed UNESCO officials over the Thai troops' invasion to Cambodia's Preah Vihear area.

The inauguration ceremony of a new building of Cambodian Reinsurance Company

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Keat Chhon, minister of Economy and Finance cuts red ribbon inaugurating a new building of Cambodian Reinsurance Company "Cambodia-Re" in Phnom Penh on Mar. 11.

On the occasion, H.E. Keat Chhon said that the State-owned Reinsurance Company "Cambodia-Re" was established in 2002 with its capital of USD 4 million and until the end of 2008, the capital has rapidly increased to some USD 20 million.
