A workshop on the follow-up and management system on the work of gender at the grass-root level was held in Preah Sihanouk province on July 27 by the Ministry of Women Affairs under the auspices of Lok Chumteav Khim Chamreoun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Women Affairs and participated by the trainees from the across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Hor Namhong said that for his personal view the KR chamber’s verdict handled for Duch was very light and undeserved if compare to the deaths of nearly 3 millions of Cambodian innocent people and hundreds of thousands of people who were tortured at Tuol Sleng and executed at Choeuk Ek.
The activities of the construction of Koh Puos Bridge or Techo Morokot Bridge in Preah Sihanouk Provincial Town which was being built since March 2008 by Koh Puos Cambodia Investment Company has so far achieved some 66% and is expected to be completed in the middle of 2011.
The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) closed its biannual meeting to review the work performance in the first six months of 2010 and set an objective for the future in the presence of NBC Governor H.E. Chea Chanto.
The meeting gave some recommendations on the role and duty of NBC, the monetary policy for maintaining price stability, the internal auditing, the good governance, the reliability of Cambodian bank notes, the human resources training, the works of general cashier and financial investigation unit, and the control of banking health system.
In the first six months of this year, NBC ensured the price stability, as a contribution to strengthening micro-economy with high effectiveness for the national development in response to the rectangular strategy of the royal government.
The around 60 members from 10 Asian countries are gathered in Siem Reap Town on July 26 to 30 for the 9th Asia Biomass Seminar in order to exchange views and experiences as well showing the advantages on biomass use and the practice on energetic field and industry.
The seminar was held under the support of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade of Japan with participation of H.E Sat Sami, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Energy of Cambodia and Mr. Hirokiyokoyama, First Secretary to Embassy of Japan to Cambodia.
Cambodian Red Cross holds the meeting on July 24 under the presidency of its President Loak Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen to review the Red cross’s work and to prepare for the 5th mandate’s meeting of Cambodian Red Cross that to be held on 4th -5th August in Phnom Penh.
