The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Kanghot Irrigation Project in Battambang province

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and China’s Ambassador to Cambodia Ms. Zhang Jin Feng press buttons to operate the machinery while presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Kanghot Irrigation Project at Banon district, Battambang province on Feb. 2.

The project is totally costs USD 61 million, including USD 47,416, 372 credit loan from the People’s Republic of China and USD 13.5 million from the government of Cambodia. Once the above-mentioned irrigation project is completed, it will be capable of watering of over 49, 000 hectares of agricultural land.

Addressing the ceremony, Cambodian premier said the project is not only to boost the agricultural field, help protect the natural disaster and enhance the transportation field, but it also the prioritized field in the government’s political platform for the internal integration goal of Cambodia.

Samdech Heng Samrin meets with a newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador to Cambodia

A newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador to Cambodia Mr. Saadi Salama Altumaizi pays a courtesy visit to Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhear Chakrey Heng Samrin in Phnom Penh on Feb. 2.

In the meeting, the ambassador pledged that he will try his utmost to further strengthen the relationship between Cambodia and Palestine and expressed his hope that Cambodian people will support the peace process in the Palestinian State.

In reply, Samdech Heng Samrin warmly welcomed the Palestinian diplomat to Cambodia.

Cambodian Premier Presides Over an Inauguration of Achievements at a Pagoda in Kandal Province

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, along with his wife, cuts red ribbon to inaugurate a monastery, a Buddhist school building and convents at Monisovan pagoda in Kiensvay district, Kandal province on Feb. 1.

The monastery, the Buddhist school building and convents were constructed at a total cost of more than one million US dollars funded by local and overseas charities.

The above-mentioned drill was attended by more than 600 people from all relevant rescue teams.

H.E. Khieu Kanharith meets with Chief Technical Advisor of International Labor Organization

Information Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith meets here this morning with Mr. MP. Joseph, Chief Technical Advisor of International Labor Organization (ILO).

On the occasion, Mr. MP Joseph informed Cambodian Minister over the continuation of ILO second phase’s implementation on the elimination of child labor in Cambodia’s eight more provinces namely Koh Kong, Svay Rieng, Kandal, Kompong Thom, Kompong Chhnang, Kratie, Battambang and Ratanakiri.

During the past first phase, ILO has carried out in seven provinces.

A Meak Bochea Day

A Meak Bochea Day was held at Preah Reachatrap Mountain in Kandal province’s Ponhear Leu district on January 30 under the presidency of Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhear Chakrei Heng Samrin and his wife, H.E. Nguon Nhel, First Vice President of the National Assembly, senators, lawmakers and government officials together with some 300 Buddhist monks and laypersons.
