H.E Khieu Kanharith visits broadcasting equipments of the radio station in Takeo province







Information Minister H.E Khieu Kanharith visits broadcasting equipments of the radio station and studio construction project in Takeo province on June 1.
On the occasion, the minister gave some comments to the civil servants of the provincial information department, asking them to do their all best to provide the information and other programs to the public and the local people.

The national fisheries day







Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen presides over a celebration today in Damnak Chang Oeu district’s Pong Toeuk commune, Kep province, to mark the national fisheries day.
Speaking at the event, the Cambodian premier regarded the national fisheries day as an important day to promote the people’s awareness to protect the biodiversity resources, adding that fishery is one of prior economic sectors in the government strategic program.
He said the anarchic activity such as the damage to the fish species habitat and the increase of illegal fishing were also treated as a serious threat. He also gave some recommendations to the local authorities at all levels on how to preserve the fisheries resources.
Meanwhile, the Cambodian prime minister released many species of baby fisheries in the natural lake.

Samdech Chea Sim meets with newly-appointed Vietnamese and Israeli Ambassador to Cambodia











Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Thamma Pothisal Chea Sim meets here on July 1 with newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Ngo Anh Dung, in which the Vietnamese diplomat said he did all his utmost to boost the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations during his diplomatic mission here.
In reply, the Cambodian senate president welcomed the Vietnamese diplomatic mission in Cambodia and thanked the party, the government and people of Vietnam for their assistance in the national development in Cambodia.
Israeli Ambassador to Cambodia Ms. Yael Rubinsten pays a farewell visit to Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Thamma Pothisal Chea Sim at the end of her diplomatic mission in the country. She thanked Cambodian government leaders for their help given to her in the relation and cooperation during her diplomatic mission here.
For his part, the Cambodian senate president appraised the Israeli diplomat for her effort to promote the ties of friendship and cooperation between two nations. Israel’s government granted scholarships to 100 Cambodian students to study in Israel.

A university graduation ceremony at the Educational Institution







Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen presides over a university graduation ceremony at the Educational Institution here yesterday, in which diplomas were awarded to 975 graduates from the University of Norton.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Cambodian premier clarified the cause of an ammunition truck explosion in Takhmao provincial town, saying that the explosion was sparked after a member of his bodyguard unit stuck soap on a fuel leak and other lighted a cigarette lighter near a truck loaded with rockets for the border destination.
He said the bodies of rockets detonated, but their heads were not yet fixed, adding that Cambodia has had such a kind of rockets a long time, but not just now. He said Cambodia has no intention of showing off the strength of country’s weapons or any will to have warfare, but in the future they will be stored additionally at those areas to be used only for self-defense rights.
The Cambodian prime minister warned Thai side not to fly their military planes over Cambodian territory, saying his armed forces have been newly equipped with modern weapons and he could not control those who pulled the gun’s trigger.

A seminar on the development of government bond market in Cambodia







Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Keat Chhon, minister of Economy and Finance, presides over a seminar on the development of government bond market in Cambodia at the Council for Development of Cambodia (CDC) today. The deputy prime minister elaborated the development of government bond market in Cambodia, regarding it as a crucial step to promote the national economy and a reply to requirement of financial resources for sustaining the national development program of the royal government.

Samdech Heng Samrin meets with Ambassador of Brunei to Cambodia




Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin meets here on June 29 with H.E Bengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar Bin Pengiran Seri Haji Ismail, Ambassador of Brunei to Cambodia.
In the meeting, the ambassador told Cambodian national assembly president of his efforts to strengthen relationship and cooperation between the two countries. He also told of the trade agreement between the two countries, in which he said 1500 tones of Cambodian rice was imported to Brunei.
In reply, Samdech Heng Samrin welcomed the newly-appointed Brunei ambassador to Cambodia, asking him to push investments in economy and tourism for the mutual benefit between the two countries.

Samdech Hun Sen meets with a delegation of the National AIDS Authority




Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen meets with a delegation of the National AIDS Authority (NAA) led by H.E Nut Sokhom, senor minister in charge of NAA here on June 29.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen urged relevant institutions of the royal government, NGOs and donor communities to join together to prevent the spreading of HIV/AIDS despite reducing the HIV/AIDS prevalence in the country.
He also recommended the national authority for continuing to launch the 100% condom use program and the prevention of discrimination against people who live with HIV/AIDS.
